| This sharp dental probe is used to spear into or extracting small pieces of veneer from the scroll saw and for piercing 2/0 blade ‘starter holes’ into veneer for cutting marquetry on a scroll saw). By chucking the dental probe in a hand drill, you can push a non-material removing hole through a packet of up to 16 layers of veneer so the 2/0 scroll saw blade can be threaded through the hole for scroll saw cutting. This hole in the veneer can be easily burnished closed after the marquetry pattern is assembled. The name ‘G’damit’ is loosely translated to describe what you say when you accidentally grab the pointy end of this tool while reaching for it in your pocket. |
