| Cutting mats are useful for accurate knife or scalpel cutting of veneer. The self-healing properties of the mat allow cuts into the mat to seal, or ‘heal’ back together. Mats also preserve the cutting edge of the knife or scalpel from quickly dulling unlike other cutting surfaces. This mat is 18" x 24" and has a grid imprinted on it, quite useful for squaring up and aligning parallel and 90 degree cuts in your veneer patterns. The mat should not be used with a veneer saw, since the saw will tear the mat and remove the plastic material. |
