| These are small 23 gauge x 3/4" long headless wire nails for ‘clench nailing’ or securing veneers together into a sandwich type package prior to scroll saw cutting. They are nailed through the entire packet, and bent over on both sides of the packet the same direction to 'clench' or to staple the layers of veneer and paper chipboard together. The small hole created in the veneer background by the nail can be burnished close and will virtually disappear after the veneer skin is glued onto the core. A 23-gauge micro pin nail gun uses such nails, and is an excellent tool for production marquetry. Please note that there is a directional arrow shown on the bar of nails for the nailing direction purposes. The veneer should be ‘separated’ by the sharp point of the pin nail, and not ‘crushed’ by the flat head on the opposite side of the pin nail. |
