Constulting Services

I specialize in formulating practical solutions for the furniture construction, surface decoration, art work, artistic engineering, architectural elements and structural modifications trades. I find I am most useful for clients that require a different approach or specialized mechanical innovation to solve technical and ascetic challenges that are faced by designers, architects and different types of factories in a variety of settings. Through my contacts that I have developed over the last 40 years throughout the world, I have developed access to a broad range of diverse talents and masters from everything from residential construction, musical instrument building, antique restoration, micro turning, luxury yacht construction “from the keel up”, surface decoration, stone and pietra dure work, leather, metal and glass working trades, and continue to collaborate together to find the right approach for specific projects that we may be working on. This sets the stage for creating solutions that are outside the box. Whether it be lighting systems, stone and wood inlay, mechanical design, custom hardware, diverse material combinations, I find it is all related, and each trade supports the other in finding the best solution that fits the particular needs of a clients project, and have completed projects in many countries over the last 35 years.

~I am a consultant for designers and manufactures of high end interiors, currently engaged in creating residential & commercial art and wall treatments, and focal piece furniture. I have  provided services to a wide range of designer and architectural firms,  manufacturers of high-end production furniture, and shops that specialize in custom vehicle, shipbuilders, and aircraft interior construction.

~I am currently an educator and have conducted seminars for the veneering industry, schools, colleges, and woodworking clubs throughout the USA, and have lectured at  AWFS in Las Vegas, North Bennet Street School and MIT in Boston, and UCSB Santa Barbara, CA.  I have worked with private and corporate clients, designers and architects in Europe and America and continue to collaborate with fine craftsman here and abroad to create the finest quality work possible in the world today.

~ Some of my past clients include: Westport Shipyard, Giati Design, Laurie Gross Studios, Becker Automotive, Quatrain, Bradywicks, FACL Inc., Getty Museum, Cleverwerx, William Daily, Kalef Alaton, C.M.Wright, Ann James Design,  Santa Barbara Historical Society....

~ Please view my PORTFOLIO to see samples of what I have designed and created in the field of furniture making.

~My formal education started in Switzerland as a Church Organ builder, Boat building in the UK, then Marquetry furniture including Pietra Dure and furniture restoration in Italy. These trades serve me well and has given me the foundation that has allowed me to design, built and install large pieces utilizing unique surface treatments, lighting and mechanical systems with furniture and architectural elements in public spaces as well as for private clients.

We have the ability to research and source products that will enhance existing projects, and have access to workshops that specialize in custom fabrication.
